Praia da Luz is a community (Freguesia) and small town (Vila) in the vicinity of Lagos. Covering an area of ??21.8 km ² and 3,500 inhabitants.

Sad to fame of the place by the fact that on 3 May 2007, the British girl Madeleine McCann disappeared from the local "Ocean Club".

Not too long ago Praia da Luz was a fishing village and has now become one of the most popular and beautiful vacation destinations in the Algarve.
